Why So Colorful?
Remember when Dorothy awoke in Oz, resplendent in technicolor glory?
How did that make you feel - awake, refreshed, and maybe even a little dazzled? That scene is rendered completely true in my brain and always will be a touchstone, a callback, or heartsong for me when I feel myself losing touch with my point of view. Black, white, and neutrals may be the law of the land here in the Midwest, but what sets me apart from most design firms and darlings out here is that I find the colors you’re willing to take a chance on - everyone has at least one or two - and will paint your whole life full of different saturations, tones, and tints of that hue.
With the whole Chip & Jo ‘Farmhouse’ thing. so many of us have wandered our ways through the last few years grabbing whatever graphic pillow looks comfy and decent enough at Target. I get it - we all have our vices! But I know you, like me, like everyone else, have likely found that pillow to be not only a lumpy mess, but a depressing reminder that you still haven’t gotten around to adding your magic touch to your home - that you’ve been settling on beige buffalo check and its cousins for far too long.
I can’t reinvent the wheel here, folks - you know what it is to behold something of glory. So go on - dream something up. Let your hearts and imaginations run wild. Spin that Color Wheel of Fortune and find your way back to your home’s harmonious, happy aesthetic. There are NO wrong choices; all colors are beautiful and all have their place.
